John Soules Foods is an industry leader in fully cooked chicken and beef items produced at three further processing facilities located in Tyler, TX (headquarters), Gainesville, GA, and Valley, AL. JSF is committed to delivering the highest quality and safest products in the industry.

The Corporate FSQA Systems Manager will play a pivotal role in upholding John Soules Foods' rigorous standards for food safety and quality across all facilities. This position reports directly to the FSQA Director and will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of FSQA systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic planning and execution of FSQA systems across all facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
  • System Implementation: Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Redzone FSQA electronic record-keeping system, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Training and Development: Develop and lead comprehensive training programs for FSQA Managers and staff, ensuring proficiency in the use of FSQA systems and adherence to best practices.
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular audits of FSQA processes to ensure compliance with documented programs and regulatory standards. Develop and verify reporting required for internal and third-party audits.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activities, to enhance efficiency, data reporting, and product quality.
  • Technical Support: Provide high-level technical support and maintain the Redzone database, ensuring effective FSQA compliance verification checks.
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational excellence and implement solution-focused ideas.
  • Project Management: Lead high-profile projects, ensuring timely execution and successful outcomes. Manage special projects and assignments as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Meat/Animal Science, or related science discipline such as chemistry, biology, or microbiology. Advanced Degree a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in food processing and quality management, meat industry FDA and USDA-regulated products preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge of USDA regulations and Food Safety Standards.
  • Proven track record if successfully leading process improvement projects.

Skills / Proficiencies

  • Technical aptitude with data management systems such as Redzone, SAP, M3, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data related to plant programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to other facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on high profile projects and execute to a specific timeline.
  • Capacity to work with others to identify opportunities.
  • Ability to listen and consider all ideas while working in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word proficiency.
