Retail Systems Analyst

Description

This position is responsible for managing the SQL Servers and point-of-sale (POS) databases/applications for select Houchens Food Group grocery and convenience stores.

Technical Job Responsibilities

• Write, test and maintain SQL scripts/programs.
• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
• Monitor database performance, space allocations, jobs, stored procedures and implement efficiency improvements as needed.
• Manage report design and data exchange automation for third parties.
• Test and implement any POS interface modifications.
• Perform both short and long term project management.
• Work with vendors to maintain POS hardware and software infrastructure.
• Identify and correct problems/inconsistencies with POS infrastructure and data.
• Work with IT Systems Administrator to meet or exceed user expectations for all POS applications/processes.
• Other tasks as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience working with Microsoft Server environment.
• Knowledge of SQL operations and syntax.
• Knowledge of Javascript.
• Strong organization and time management abilities.
• Ability to think creatively, strategically and problem solve.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork oriented.
• Other programming languages a plus.
