Job Summary
The Group Facilitator, under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and/or Clinical Director of Integrated Services, is responsible for providing client education in a group setting on substance use disorder, mental health, and related health risks. This includes education on drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, the risks of exposure to HIV/AIDS and hepatitis, the health consequences of substance use disorders, relapse prevention strategies, and the unique needs of clients with co-occurring disorders and gender-specific issues to support clients in their recovery journey.
Job Duties
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in counseling or related counseling field.
Preferred Certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADC), licensed alcohol and drug counselors (LCADC), or other licensed health professionals (LAC/LSW, LPC/LCSW), or not required (master’s level interns).
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records helpful. Ability to speak, read and write English. Must be able to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision. Good interpersonal skills required. Must maintain a professional demeanor and perform duties effectively in stressful/emergency situations. Must be able to maintain objectivity and deal diplomatically with clients and family members.

Job Duties

- Knowing and enforcing agency policy and procedures.
- Familiarity with client rights.
- Facilitates psycho-educational and/or process therapy group sessions, throughout the Integrated Services Department(s) as outlined in the Eva’s Village Hazeldon electronic evidence-based curriculum (as per identified NJ State licensure or certification).
- Setting clear goals, establishing group norms, and planning session activities to facilitate productive discussion.
- Offering constructive insights and support to group members based on their sharing and behavior.
- Creating a safe environment for all group members.
- Protecting the privacy of group members' personal information.
- Documentation of all group counseling sessions on the same day the service is rendered.
- Keeping and maintaining detailed records of each member's group participation and therapeutic progress promptly.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings within the agency.
- Maintains effective intra and inter-communication within departments.
- Maintains professional licensing requirements per the state of New Jersey .
- Perform crisis intervention as clinically necessary.
- Performs other relevant duties, projects, etc., as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor and/or Director of Integrated Services.
