Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

A leading automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team in Texas. This position plays a critical role in strengthening supplier performance, supporting new program launches, and ensuring consistent quality across our supply chain—particularly for molding and electronic components sourced from both in-house Mexican facilities and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier part quality for the Texas distribution center and Mexico plant, ensuring compliance and rapid response to part-related claims.
• Support supplier selection and development processes, especially for electronic and molding components.
• LeadAPQP, PPAP, andsupplier audits , ensuring quality standards are met from early development through production.
• Collaborate closely with internal QA teams, engineering, procurement, and supplier partners.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
• Provide on-site supplier support in Reynosa, Mexico (minimum 3 visits per week, secure transportation provided).
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Focus in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive supplier quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, PPAP, APQP, and supplier audit practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Experience with OEM processes is highly desirable.
• Language proficiency in Spanish or Japanese is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Reynosa, Mexico (minimum three times per week; secured company transport provided).
