Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of dietary supplement formulations, supporting projects from bench scale through commercialization under the guidance of the Product Development Lab Manager.
- Conduct ingredient research and material assessment to support the sourcing of raw materials in partnership with procurement.
- Assist in conducting pilot trials to optimize formulations and ensure scalability for commercial production.
- Facilitate developmental stability studies, maintain accurate records of formulation iterations, and document analytical outcomes in compliance with internal systems.
- Assist in identifying and resolving technical challenges related to formulation performance and manufacturing processes, working collaboratively with the team to develop effective solutions. Assist with bench-scale formulation and product development efforts under the guidance of R&D scientists and managers.
- Help set up and clean pilot plant equipment, ensuring smooth trials and supporting the optimization of formulations for commercial scalability.
- Weigh out and batch formulations for bench and pilot plant trials.
- Prepare and log sensory evaluation samples, facilitate sensory testing, and manage questionnaires to gather actionable feedback.
- Manage ingredient logistics, working with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely ordering and delivery of ingredients.
- Log and manage stability samples, coordinating testing with the Quality team and third-party labs, ensuring all relevant data is collected and documented.
- Retrieve and log analytical data, collaborating with the Quality team to ensure proper tracking and reporting of product performance and testing outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in product development or a related field (internship experience is acceptable).
- Basic laboratory skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with GMP standards and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with dietary supplement and food regulations or a willingness to learn regulatory frameworks.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist in resolving technical issues during product development.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and contribute to the timely completion of projects.
- Willingness to learn and grow in product development, contributing to the overall success of the team.
- Develop and deliver on assigned objectives within requested timeframes.
