Overview

We're seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator with strong aluminum TIG welding experience to join our growing fabrication team. In this role, you'll be responsible for building structural and cosmetic components for adventure vehicles, including bumpers, roof racks, sliders, flatbeds, interior frames, and custom accessories. The ideal candidate is a precision welder and fabricator who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Fabricate custom parts and components with a focus on high-quality aluminum TIG welding
  • Also perform MIG welding and light steel fabrication as needed
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, tape measure, and blueprints to create precise, reliable parts
  • Operate shop tools such as band saws, chop saw, plasma cutters, grinders, tube benders, and drill presses
  • Assemble and fit fabricated parts into vehicle builds with an eye for accuracy and detail
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to prototype and refine custom components
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow all shop safety protocols
  • Provide input on design improvements based on fabrication experience and field use

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm

Qualifications/Requirements

The role involves fabricating custom parts and components with an emphasis on high-quality aluminum TIG welding, as well as performing MIG welding and light steel fabrication when necessary. Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precision and reliability in parts production. The position requires proficient use of shop tools such as band saws, chop saws, plasma cutters, grinders, tube benders, and drill presses. Assembling and fitting fabricated parts into vehicle builds with accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • 2+ years of professional welding/fabrication experience (automotive or off-road experience preferred)
  • Proven proficiency in TIG welding aluminum is required
  • Experience with MIG welding and working with mild/stainless steel
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and fabrication blueprints
  • Skilled in using metalworking tools and shop equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
  • Test welding required at time of interview.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • This job entails prolonged periods of standing and walking around the manufacturing floor
  • Precision and coordination are crucial for assembling intricate components and operating machinery. Employees must be capable of using hand and power tools with a steady hand
  • Assembly tasks may require reaching, stretching, and bending to access components, equipment, and workstations as well as the ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch is necessary for accessing low-lying work areas and performing assembly tasks close to the ground
  • Employees must have good visual acuity to inspect and ensure the quality of components and products. This may involve reading technical documents and operating machinery with precision
  • The role may require the ability to hear and respond to alarms, machinery sounds, and co-worker communication in a manufacturing environment
  • For tasks involving computer work or documentation, employees may be required to sit for extended periods
  • Exposure to Hazardous Materials: In some cases, employees may be exposed to chemicals or substances used in the manufacturing process. Proper safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided
