Position Summary

The Technical Product Support Specialist will serve as a key resource for sales and technical support regarding Fluid Connectors at MFCP. This position spends a significant part of the day monitoring and responding to inquiries on the IHP Help Desk and Fluid Connectors Help Desk—a role that requires agility, quick thinking, and a vast knowledge of products and solutions, while keeping a pulse on market trends and competitor activity. The Specialist functions as a liaison, building relationships between our MFCP sales team and suppliers to better expand our customer base/market share, adding needed ancillary products and significantly growing the revenue of the entire Fluid Connector Group.

Providing continuous education for both internal staff and sales teams is an important function. The position occasionally requires supporting the factory representatives when they are visiting local customers.

Primary Duties

  • Provide support as needed to customers, inside and outside MFCP sales staff, Fluid Connector Team and management.
  • Respond to Fluid Connector RFQs received via Help Desk, email, phone calls:
  • Collect all necessary STAMPED information.
  • Send RFQs to vendors.
  • Create BOMs and send to sales.
  • Follow up on BOMs sent to sales – copy IHP Technology Managers.
  • Work with current and new customers on inbound inquiries and supporting the outside sales team with outbound sales and support communications.
  • Drive the growth and direction of the Fluid Connector Group product line, develop, and implement programs to attain company growth; this includes all FCG.
  • Work with FCG Technology Managers to provide and coordinate training and education. This will include “in-house” instruction, schools, seminars, and other methods of training. Our goal is to have highly qualified personnel throughout the company.

Basic Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience with solid business acumen. Individual must complete training courses as required by the company to ensure they have proper product knowledge.
  • Have prior comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience with industrial hose, including building, crimping, and testing assemblies.
  • Have an understanding of STAMPED and the importance of including the components of STAMPED in all RFQs.
  • Must be self-motivated, task-oriented, able to perform duties without direct supervision.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the industries we serve.
  • Must be able to communicate and collaborate well with customers, vendors, and company staff.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

  • Job requires occasionally lifting objects up to thirty-five pounds, bending to retrieve equipment, parts, hose reels, perform pressure testing, and push, pull or slide heavy objects. Standing for extended periods of time while cutting, crimping, blowing out, tagging, and plugging hoses.
  • Frequent repetitive use of the hands by grasping, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Occasionally use hydraulic crimping equipment, saws, pressure testing stand, small power tools and various other hand tools. Some materials or processes used in hose production may generate odors.
  • Hose production is located in a non-air-conditioned area of our facility which may experience high or low seasonal temperatures.

Salary

$75K - $95K yearly plus bonus, commensurate with skills and experience.
