We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Safety Engineer to provide expert safety consulting services for our clients in industrial automation. This role is responsible for conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and designing safety systems for a variety of industrial automated machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple industries and be adept at tailoring safety solutions to meet diverse client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Safety Design & Risk Assessment: Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments for client facilities and industrial automation systems. Implement ISO 12100 and other relevant safety standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Standards Adherence: Ensure client compliance with OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO and other applicable safety regulations. Provide guidance and support during audits.
Implementation of Safety Systems: Design and integrate emergency stop systems (E-Stops), light curtains, interlocks, and other safety mechanisms tailored to client requirements. Develop and program Programmable Safety Controllers (PLCs) to enhance workplace safety.
Risk Mitigation Strategies: Advise clients on best practices for designing collaborative robots and industrial automation systems with force limits, redundancy, and fail-safe mechanisms.
Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement: Analyze workplace incidents involving industrial automation, propose design modifications, and help clients improve their safety procedures to prevent future risks.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is ideal but not required.
Certifications such as Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE), Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ANSI B11 LMSS are a plus.
Knowledge of safety programming
