The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.

The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.

Position Overview

Houston Dynamo FC is seeking a strategic and innovative creative to serve in a key leadership role within the Marketing department. The Senior Director will be responsible for setting and executing the creative vision for the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash brands. This individual will lead the video production and creative design teams to drive innovative, engaging, and onbrand content across all digital, social, in-stadium and outbound platforms.

This role requires a strategic thinker, dynamic leader, and experienced content producer who can guide large-scale creative projects from concept to completion. The Senior Director will partner cross-functionally with stakeholders to bring campaigns to life, contribute to the Club’s overarching brand and content strategy, and elevate storytelling that fuels fan passion and drives business goals.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the creative, video, and photography teams to produce high-quality content that aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with target audiences
  • Drive the development and execution of compelling content strategies across digital, social, broadcast, and in-stadium channels
  • Collaborate with departments including Marketing, Partnerships, Ticketing, and Charities, to meet campaign objectives and ensure cohesive storytelling
  • Partner with social and digital teams to align on platform strategies and optimize content for engagement, reach, and brand impact
  • Provide creative direction and project oversight for brand campaigns, hype videos, storytelling features, promotional materials, and internal presentations
  • Spearhead ideation sessions, develop annual strategic content plans, and ensure consistent alignment with Club’s marketing vision and seasonal priorities
  • Oversee and track the performance and impact of creative initiatives, communicating results and learnings to internal stakeholders
  • Manage the annual content and creative budget, ensuring smart allocation of resources
  • Stay ahead of content and creative trends, platform best practices, and evolving technologies in sports and entertainment
  • Maintain and evolve creative tools, production equipment, and vendor/freelancer networks to support content and creative delivery
  • Coordinate with league partners (MLS and NWSL) to stay current on league initiatives and creative toolkits, content protocols, and opportunities
  • Ensure content needs for in-game presentation, broadcast advertising, corporate partnerships, and other core areas are fully supported
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, ad continuous improvement within the content and creative teams
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Design, Media, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of professional content and creative experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role, preferably in sports and entertainment
  • Proven experience overseeing campaign development across video, design, andphotography, from ideation through delivery
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, content management platforms, and production workflows
  • Deep understanding of digital ad social media platforms, content distribution, and audience behaviors
  • Demonstrated success managing teams and creative talent, providing mentorship an performance feedback
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze content performance metrics and apply insights to future planning
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with motion graphics, live event production, and photography a plus
  • Budget management and strategic planning experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Available to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
