With over 41 years in the office furniture manufacturing industry our company is looking for a talented individual to join our team.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer with a strong background in furniture design to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, 3D models, and production-ready plans for custom and mass-produced furniture. This role requires a deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics, along with proficiency in CAD software.

We are looking for people with design and CAD experience, that have a passion for design, creativity and developing new ideas. We are a nimble lean organization that takes pride in hard work and our ability build high quality furniture in a fast-paced environment. Many of our designs are custom and require the ability to think outside of the box to come up with creative solutions. For the right person this an excellent opportunity to grow and learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for furniture pieces, from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Work with quoting and customer care teams to deliver on time and on budget projects
  • Modify and refine designs based on feedback, technical requirements, or material constraints.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including assembly instructions, bill of materials (BOM), and material specifications.
  • Maintain organized design files and ensure consistency with brand standards.
  • Participate in prototype reviews and provide technical input throughout the product development cycle.
  • Work with customers on design ideas
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and furniture manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications Needed

  • Strong knowledge of furniture construction, materials (wood, metal, upholstery), and fabrication techniques.
  • 3-6+ years of experience with 3D modeling software, such as Cabinet Vision, Rhino, AutoCAD, -SketchUp, SolidWorks, Keyshot or other comparable CAD software
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and 3D visualizations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41.00 - $51.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
