Accounting Assistant Opportunity - Long Term Temporary Position

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-driven Accounting Assistant for a long-term temporary assignment. This hybrid role offers a blend of accounting and administrative responsibilities with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) support and general ledger assistance. Ideal candidates bring a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow their accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete monthly reconciliations (e.g., Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accrued Liabilities) on time.
- Analyze subledger activity for accuracy and consistency.
- Code and process AP vendor invoices with attention to GL accuracy and proper approvals.
- Identify and process necessary expense accruals and reclassifications.
- Assist with audit preparation and support documentation.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation.
- Organize and maintain financial files for ease of access and compliance.
- Support regulatory and financial audits as needed.
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or AP support.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GL systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Effective communication skills and high integrity with confidential information.
