Accounting Assistant Opportunity - Long Term Temporary Position

Hybrid Opportunity located in Buena Park

Pay Range: $25–$27 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-driven Accounting Assistant for a long-term temporary assignment. This hybrid role offers a blend of accounting and administrative responsibilities with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) support and general ledger assistance. Ideal candidates bring a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow their accounting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly reconciliations (e.g., Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accrued Liabilities) on time.
  • Analyze subledger activity for accuracy and consistency.
  • Code and process AP vendor invoices with attention to GL accuracy and proper approvals.
  • Identify and process necessary expense accruals and reclassifications.
  • Assist with audit preparation and support documentation.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update procedural documentation.
  • Organize and maintain financial files for ease of access and compliance.
  • Support regulatory and financial audits as needed.
  • Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or AP support.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GL systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Effective communication skills and high integrity with confidential information.
