BIOANALYTICAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Summary

We seek a highly motivated and inquisitive individual to join our Medicinal Chemistry group in bioanalytical research as a Research Associate to support the characterization of novel nucleic acid-based therapeutics. Primary responsibilities will focus on the development and application of quantitative and qualitative assays employing a variety of analytical tools including mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, and ligand binding assays. The successful candidate will be creative and adaptable with an eye toward organization and detail.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of quantitative assays based on LC/MS, PCR, and ligand binding.
  • Support bioanalysis of pharmacokinetic and metabolism studies
  • Characterize binding properties of various ligands and analytes by SPR and other binding assays
  • Perform routine QC analysis of research-grade drug product by LC/MS
  • Proactively collaborate with scientists across the organization to advance company objectives
  • Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks and present findings to cross-functional teams
  • Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality including ordering and receiving lab supplies
  • Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings

Requirements

  • BS in a field of chemistry or biological sciences with experience in laboratory research
  • Ability and drive to learn new skills and adopt new technologies
  • A team player who can work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to engage experts and literature to troubleshoot scientific problems.
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skill
  • Experience evaluating binding kinetics with SPR, BLI, or similar technology
  • Experience with LC/MS
