We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal AI/ML Engineer to lead our Research & Engineering function. This role is pivotal in understanding the latest AI/ML developments and building accelerators and prototypes that the larger UHC team can adopt quickly. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for publishing Points of View on the latest technologies.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML Research and Development: Conduct cutting-edge research to advance the state-of-the-art in AI/ML technologies and methodologies. Stay updated with the latest advancements and incorporate them into the company's roadmap
- Mentor and Lead Team: Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists. Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation
- Build Accelerators and Prototypes: Develop and deploy AI/ML accelerators and prototypes that can be quickly adopted by the larger UHC team. Ensure these solutions are scalable and efficient
- Publish Points of View: Author and publish insightful Points of View on emerging AI/ML technologies and trends. Share findings through reputable journals, conferences, and internal publications
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with various departments, including marketing, IT, and Business, to ensure seamless integration of AI/ML solutions
- Evaluate AI Models: Guide the team through the tasks of preparing training data, conducting AI experiments, and creating performance metrics appropriate to AI projects
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure AI products meet corporate standards for reliability, quality, fairness, accountability, transparency, privacy, and security
- Hands-on Coding: Engage in hands-on coding and technical problem-solving as needed
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align AI/ML initiatives with business goals
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field (In-depth knowledge in Algebra, Calculus, and Statistic)
- 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, AND 3+ years in a leadership role
- 7+ years of experience in Python and TensorFlow
- 7 years of experience in Machine Learning
- 3+ years of experience in Deep Learning
- 1+ year of experience in Generative AI
- Demonstrated experience following, Responsible Use of AI, while deploying models in production
- Proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in production, delivering significant value to the business
- Willingness to lead teams globally (India)
- Certifications in AI/ML from recognized institutions
- Experience in healthcare or related industries, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities in these fields
- Proven solid record of publishing research findings in reputable journals and conferences
- Proven active participation in AI/ML communities and forums
