This position requires a high degree of integrity and professionalism with customers and fellow employees, excellent communication skills, and the ability to efficiently maximize your day. Drivability Technicians should work to meet or exceed the customer’s service expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Check engine performance, spark plugs, and engine warning light.
  • Determine appropriate maintenance and repairs.
  • Test drive customer vehicles as necessary.
  • Effectively use hand tools and automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Interpret manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Repair customer vehicles to manufacture specifications.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance.
  • Effectively communicate vehicle situation with service advisors, so they in turn can communicate with customers.
  • Stay up to date with training programs and related service news.
  • Ensure that vehicles leave clean and are free from dirt and grease stains.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Train apprentice employees as necessary.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.

Qualifications

  • Valid Drivers license
  • Excellent driving record
  • Dependable and reliable self starter
  • Must own tools
  • Must be team oriented and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Must be available to work normal operating hours of service department, including Saturdays, but flexible schedules are available
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission
  • Ability to quickly learn new information
  • Ability to organize and multi-task
