JOB DESCRIPTION


Christine Costa Interiors is a boutique residential and commercial interior design studio based in Redondo Beach, CA, with projects throughout Los Angeles and beyond. We are currently seeking an Interior Design Project & Procurement Coordinator with a love of design, who will support our design team in bringing projects to life from concept to installation.


This is a dynamic position that will touch all phases of design – including project management across workrooms, job sites, showrooms and trade relationships as well as procurement and order tracking on all projects.  We are looking for someone who thrives in the details and knows how to run a tight ship, while interacting with team members, clients, vendors and trades with grace, patience and kindness.


The ideal candidate would bring a highly detailed eye, an understanding of managing design development and construction schedules as well as experience in procurement/purchasing. 2-4 years experience working in an interior design, design-build or showroom environment, with an understanding of construction and project implementation phases. Candidate should be comfortable interfacing with clients and ensuring the best customer experience. Experience working in Studio Designer (or similar) and AutoCAD a plus.


  • Hourly, 20-25 hours per week, with potential to go full-time based on performance. $20-28/hour
  • Location: Redondo Beach, CA. Must be able to work from our Redondo Beach offices 3-4 days per week.  
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Oversee project schedules, workflows, deliverable timelines and specification documents across projects and teams
  • Order and track samples, maintain the design library, and manage incoming materials and deliveries to the office.
  • Support designers in sourcing and showroom visits, sample requests and managing CFAs
  • Manage timelines and coordination of designer responsibilities across multiple projects, updating weekly status report, communicating upcoming deadlines and open items to designers, etc.  
  • Collect, package and coordinate specification details for custom furnishings and workroom requests
  • Support coordination of photoshoots, including sourcing and pulling accessories, memos, florals and perishables. Engagement of photographers and stylists, and day of team support.  
  • Prepare product/materials proposals in Studio Designer, including:
  • Collect, present and order finish and fabric samples from vendors
  • Create and submit POs to vendors, and ensure they are updated to reflect final sales
  • Coordinate and finalize vendor quotes
  • Purchase approved items to spec, confirming all details with design team and vendors
  • Track orders, coordinate installation timelines and deliveries with our receiving warehouse, and oversee inspection/returns of orders that arrive directly to our office


CLIENT & VENDOR RELATIONS:

  • Serve as a project liaison between design team, contractors, trades and clients, coordinating meetings, updating timelines and tracking action items coming out of design reviews, client feedback and site meetings.
  • Regularly communicate with clients, vendors and trades, acting as a consummate professional who can consistently represent the studio and our kind and creative culture.  
  • Schedule client presentations, site walks, vendor meetings, showroom and workroom visits.
  • Research and introduce new vendors, open trade accounts and identify trade/coordinate events that are beneficial to our team.
  • Oversee details on installations – ensuring floor plans are dimensioned and onsite, installation kit is up to date, deliveries are inspected, damages are reported and all items are beautifully installed.


OFFICE  SUPPORT:

  • Organize and manage client server, document printing and updates, sample library, project bins, and design documentation.
  • Assist with errands, showroom visits, sample pulls, workroom and shop drawing reviews, order updates and returns.
  • Light social media and newsletter content creation and support



QUALIFICATIONS


  • 2–4 years experience in an interior design studio, showroom, design-build, construction or related industry environment.
  • Proficient in Studio Designer (or similar), Canva, and like tools. Some experience in AutoCAD a plus.
  • Must be highly detail oriented, or better put, detail obsessed – a born organizer and lover of logistics
  • Team player who is a natural people person and can maintain grace and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable working in high-end, luxury environments
  • Fast learner that takes pride in quality of their work, with great follow-through and willingness to think beyond their comfort zone
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as a team player with a can-do attitude
  • A passion and love for residential architecture and interior design



DETAILS


This is an hourly, part-time position to start, with an estimated 20-30 hours per week, that will ebb and flow dependent on project demands. Potential to grow into a full-time salaried position, based on performance.
