Job Summary
The Accountant I will provide financial and accounting support under the general management of the Business Operations Manager with day-to-day direction from the Team Lead, including duties related to account management and reporting, research administration and compliance, in accordance with college and university reporting and accountability for funds management.

Job Summary
The Accountant I will provide financial and accounting support under the general management of the Business Operations Manager with day-to-day direction from the Team Lead, including duties related to account management and reporting, research administration and compliance, in accordance with college and university reporting and accountability for funds management.
Financial Processes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate, process, and route financial transactions in a manner that coincides with university policies as they relate to account management, college reporting, and accountability for funds management; troubleshoot as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in university policies and procedures as they relate to financial processes and serve as a subject matter expert in financial systems to train and collaborate with all members of CONHI in a proactive and service-minded approach.
- Review and reconcile assigned cost centers and transactions within the scope/purpose of the cost centers, analyze variances, and highlight transactions or cost centers of concern.
- Provide financial and accounting analysis and reports, as requested.
- Coordinates, compiles, and analyzes periodical expenditure reports for all areas of the organization while noting variances and apparent discrepancies and developing recommendations as appropriate.
- Produces integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, and presentations utilizing spreadsheet and database applications.
- Work in collaboration with departmental administrative leads on space management and updating throughout the year.
- Track and update space in CASIM every summer and ongoing tracking of open offices.
- Coordinate office moves, ensure offices have been refreshed after each occupant leaves.
- Tracks work orders to ensure timely response and requests are fulfilled to expectations.
- Assists in ensuring that special projects, tasks, and special assignments are completed in a timely fashion.
- Stay updated on changes in university policies and procedures as they relate to financial processes.
- Maintains appropriate knowledge through training and professional development to ensure skills are current with university policies, internal financial controls, and higher education financial practices.
- Performs other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related degree.
- One (1) year of increasing responsibilities including record keeping, accounting, administrative.
- OR four (4) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience with three (3) of those years in finance and/or accounting responsibilities.
- Working knowledge and experience with UTA Systems such as PeopleSoft, MARs, and Concur.
- Expertise in Excel and other MS systems.
- Proficient in database management.
- Ability to problem solve and manage time efficiently.
