Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description

Abbott Electric, Inc. an electrical contractor, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and efficiently.
• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Assist with month-end closing processes.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and records.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Assist in year-end audit processes related to accounts payable.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred).
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
