Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Systems Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft Cloud environments, including GCC High tenants, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 applications, on-premises servers and storage, and virtualized environments. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a security-sensitive, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft 365 services with a strong focus on GCC High environments.
  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot SharePoint Online and on-premises instances.
  • Provide administration and operational support for Microsoft cloud applications with a focus on secure collaboration (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Sharepoint).
  • Administer and maintain on-premises Windows servers, storage systems, and virtualized environments (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Implement and maintain security, compliance, and data governance standards in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to government and industry standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues promptly to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a Microsoft-centric environment.
  • Expertise with configuration, administration and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 Commercial/GCC High tenants.
  • Familiarity with Entra, Purview and other M365 services.
  • Experience managing SharePoint Online.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V or VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS permissions and group management.
  • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, DFARS, or CMMC.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of cloud security practices, compliance (e.g., CMMC, DFARS), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox) and storage systems.
  • Experience supporting DoD or other government agencies with compliance mandates.
  • Applicable Microsoft certifications:
    • M365 Certified: Administrator Export
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
