Horrocks seeks a Principal Investigator and Archaeologist Lead to support cultural resource management opportunities in the state of Utah and support our cultural resource efforts in other adjacent markets. This position would be based in either our Pleasant Grove, Salt Lake, or Taylorsville, Utah office supporting Horrocks’ environmental compliance efforts. As Horrocks continues to grow, we need a candidate to help support compliance with the Section 106 process and strengthen or develop new relationships with existing and future clients. As Principal Investigator, you will be responsible for all archaeological investigations and completing the coordinating reports in Utah and supporting other locales as needed.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Responsible for planning, executing, and reporting archaeological investigations
- Knowledge of survey techniques, artifact analysis, and other archaeological research processes
- Plan Development regarding archaeological project factors within the time and budget bounds
- Experience in technical report writing
- Perform independent fieldwork
- Maintain effective communications with clients and teams
- Ensure all projects are compliant with local and federal guidelines and regulations
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure all plans are executed to standards
- Graduate degree with an emphasis in Anthropology/Archaeology required
- 3 to 5 years of related professional experience
- Meets Secretary of Interior Standards
- State permitted (or ability to be State Permitted) in UT, ID, NV, AZ, and/or NM
- Permitted (or ability to be permitted) with BLM, USFS, and other federal agencies
- Regional experience (Great Basin, Columbia Plateau, Southwest)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
