RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Supervises daily operation of residential shelter programs
- Supervises residential staff
- Oversees activities of all residential program volunteers and student interns
- Supervises casework for all high-risk clients
- Responsible for accurate program record keeping
- Gathers/prepares statistical information for reporting purposes (i.e., funding agencies)
- Prepares and submits monthly reports
- Coordinates daily shelter operations; assesses shelter, resident and program needs
- Conducts weekly Direct Service meetings
- Maintains program compliance with state standards
- Responsible for program development to enhance services
- Updates and maintains program manual
- Assigns client case load to counselors
- Conducts individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention; designs action plans; assists client in development of network/support systems outside of agency
- Facilitates groups when necessary and possible
- Responds to crisis calls, abusers, and handles emergency situations
- Any other duties/tasks as assigned
- Cooperation with all other HAVEN programs to achieve organizational goals
- Attend monthly staff meetings, committee meetings and other meetings as required
- Knowledge of and adherence to all contract requirements
- Abide by agency policies, procedures, contracts, rules and regulations
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Human Service area or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years' work experience with battered women or equivalent experience.
- Proven supervisory and administrative skills.
- Thorough knowledge of domestic violence related issues.
- Thorough knowledge of domestic violence related issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with victims of domestic violence.
- Proven counseling, supervisory and administrative skills.
- Ability to assess needs of shelter residents and develop programs to meet those needs.
- Ability to work with individuals of all socio-economic, racial, cultural, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds.
