Requirements

General Statement of Position:

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation of the community. They

are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the community’s residents, ensuring the

residents have a home where they enjoy living and that they have pride in their

community. They are responsible for the financial success of the building. They must be

savvy in the skills of finance, accounting, marketing, human resources, and have a

general sense of what is takes to be successful.

Reports To

Chief Executive Officer

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Organize and direct the community’s ongoing functions.
  • Operates the community in a manner which will ensure company profitability by

meeting all community budget and census guidelines as set by Corporate

  • Directs and monitors all marketing activities to achieve a 100% occupied

community

  • Provides resident programs designed to provide enrichment in the areas of

social interaction, entertainment, arts and crafts, physical exercise, education,

religious services, and community involvement

  • Directs and monitors timely and accurate completion of all daily/weekly/monthly

billings, accounting and bookkeeping requirements

  • Assists as needed in the coordination of move-in with respective residents.

Periodically reviews each resident's status and ability to perform under the terms

and conditions of the Residency Agreement

  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective budgeting and

accounting techniques. Use Declining Balance sheets per department and

provide ongoing training and monitoring as to effectiveness.

  • Stay in line with the budget as to expenditure and revenue expectations.
  • Actively manages and leads the community team, including recruiting and

retention of key contributors, performance management, employee

development, coaching, and feedback

  • Participate in daily monitoring of the cleanliness and maintenance of the

community.

  • Maintain ongoing liaison among the Governing Authorities, professional

personnel and staff.

  • Ensure community policies and procedures reflect changes in federal and state

rules, regulations and codes as well as establish and maintain active

membership in national, state and/or local professional organizations.

  • Ensure the accuracy of public informational materials and activities.
  • Ensure adequate staff education and evaluation is being performed. Oversee the

Quality Assurance/Utilization Review process.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Training And Experience

  • Certification as an Assisted Living Administrator in the State of California
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Must possess strong and proven leadership and management skills.
  • Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner
  • Must possess marketing and public relations skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and develop people
  • Prefer a college degree and/or five years of management experience.
  • Prefer candidate to have worked in the senior industry for a minimum of two

years.
