Position Summary

The Medical Services Driver provides timely and accurate distribution and dispatch of interdepartmental mail between HHS locations, storage facilities and local venders, in accordance with the Heartland Health Services (HHS) mission, strategic goals, federal and state laws and regulations, performance and outcome objectives, and accreditation standards. In addition to courier services, the driver will function as security while at community events and perform light maintenance at HHS facilities. An Illinois C class license will be required to drive the mobile unit.

Essential Functions

  • Service the primary driver of the mobile unit and assist with delivery of patient care services and management, and navigation of participants on and off mobile unit.
  • Conduct safety inspections of company vehicle prior to and after utilizing.
  • Address and document the vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle both internal and external.
  • Proactively map out driving routes to determine the most efficient routing
  • Set up the mobile unit for providers and clinical staff, assisting stock supplies and equipment.
  • Confers with the Maintenance Supervisor starting each shift to determine work priorities and supplies required.
  • Retrieves, sorts, and distributes all medical records, interdepartmental mail and office documents for all HHS Locations or storage facilities.
  • Make money deposits on a scheduled basis.
  • Delivers labs to UPS daily.
  • Picks-up and delivers office supplies and documents from printing vendors and community sites as required.
  • Prioritizes and completes work orders for general and grounds maintenance.
  • Assume security role while at community events.
  • Ensures clinic compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and HHS rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the clinical provision of medical services as well as those relating to, but not limited to, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
  • Works in consultation with clinical teams, direct clinical support staff, and indirect clinical support staff to develop and implement policies and procedures that maximize patient-centered communication and services.
  • Attend all staff meetings, department meetings, and any other meetings as required.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.

Requirements

  • Illinois class C license is required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects.
  • The ability to collaborate with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently in performing duties.
  • Any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required is acceptable.
