The Role You’ll Contribute

This position is responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food service operations of the Nutrition Services Department at AdventHealth Hospital. To this end, this position:

  • Ensures compliance of department standards as aligned with state, federal, and regulatory safety and sanitation standards,
  • Supervises, directs, evaluates, counsels, and coordinates activities of assigned staff members,
  • Possesses adequate knowledge of dietary restrictions commonly ordered for patients,
  • Participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of department-level initiatives, including menu development, performance improvement program, and policies and procedures, and
  • Oversees assigned kitchen operations on a daily basis.

The Value You’ll Bring To The Team

  • Ensures compliance to department polices and guidelines to affect compliance to state, federal, and regulatory standards, including, but not limited to:
  • HACCP Program,
  • Sanitation and Safety Inspections, and
  • Temperature Logs.
  • Provides overall direction for assigned front line employees while continually employing LEAN principles.
  • Actively participates in employee selection, orientation, education, and instruction.
  • Ensures employee development, engagement, and compliance with SHARE principles.
  • Monitors department productivity and makes appropriate changes in staffing to ensure compliance to established standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of department POS system and participates in department activities related to cash reconciliation. Assists in departmental activities related to cash reconciliation.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in food service production.
  • One (1) years of experience in food procurement, menu planning, inventory control, works schedules, and record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting.
  • Certified Dietary Manager
  • ServSafe Certification
