Job Summary :

With minimal direct supervision, the incumbent is responsible for making the production process, AWR-standard, as efficient and seamless as possible by maintaining operational and data integrity of MRP system(s), ensuring BOM’s, scheduling, routings, work center capacity and labor standards function as designed. The Production Planner determines production schedules, diagnoses planning problems, loads and tests production BOM’s and routings.

The Production Planner chooses the optimal planning strategy for each production stage to balance lead time, supply risk, stock and WIP inventory, schedule stability, and customer priorities.

Essential Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Product Coordinator, and AWR-Custom/Project Management.
  • Enters standard, to-stock, orders into MRP to maintain consistent production orders.
  • Adjusts production schedule to meet customer demands vs. capacity/goals.
  • Provides a predictable, rational production schedule for the AWR-Standard division.
  • NOTE: this can/will differ to the customer-demand-schedule.
  • Monitors and responds to ECO-process to determine fate of parts in production assemblies (in-process, in-inventory, in the future)
  • Maintain materials in MRP - eliminating duplication through ECOs and inventory process control. Works closely with Systems Manager, here.
  • Maintains all planning parameters in MRP.
  • Makes Master Schedule decisions to balance inventory vs. lead time.
  • Maintains work center capacity/efficiency to achieve an accurate schedule
  • Works with Procurement/Purchasing to establish re-order logic and ensure supply meets current and future demand.
  • Works with the inventory team on Job to Stock, Stock to Job, and Job to Job transfers.
  • Based on business-need, assist, support, or perform other duties within defined scope and ability – assuming accountability and responsibility for those assigned projects or programs.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain; Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or the equivalent in formal education and related work experience.
  • 8 – 10 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience using ERP/MRP Systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in production planning and production processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in standard automation with a good understanding of components required for successful implementation.
  • Demonstrated application of basic computer skills. Strong willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to think independently and express/convey new thoughts and alternative methods.
  • Honesty, high integrity, and initiative necessary to work independently without direct supervision or oversight.
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Strong goal orientation. Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills, professional demeanor, customer confidence and relationship building abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing time management.
  • Collaborates well with others to achieve common goals.

Working Conditions

  • Office administrative with exposure to production/manufacturing work environment which includes moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment.
  • Hands on work with machine tool equipment.
  • Computer data entry and systems maintenance
  • Internal/external customer communications with vendor contact
