The California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Construction Package 1 (CP1) is a major milestone in the state’s efforts to build the first high-speed rail system in the U.S. CP1 involves a 32-mile stretch of track between Madera and Fresno, with key work elements such as roadway/railroad grade separations, viaducts, tunnels, realignment of existing railroad tracks, and utility relocations.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, and testing procedures to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Review and inspect concrete steel reinforcement and form work on various elements such as bridge decks, beams, culverts, columns, footings, utilities, and roadways.
- Gain a strong working knowledge of company quality control programs, standards, procedures, and codes to carry out inspections effectively.
- Perform inspections and witness tests to determine the acceptability of work across different disciplines.
- Assist in maintaining inspection records and performance documentation, ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
- Support the preparation and implementation of quality control procedures, including inspection instructions and testing equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to align inspection schedules and ensure smooth workflow.
- Participate in both internal and external quality control audits.
- Assist in reviewing purchase documents for compliance with quality control requirements.
- Take on additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED certification required.
- 5+ years of experience in design-build or heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision, or management, preferably in large public works projects.
- Familiarity with contract specifications related to quality control and/or assurance (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferred).
- ACI or other industry-related certifications (preferred).
