We are currently searching for a Senior Staff Accountant or Staff Accountant to assist in the general ledger accounting functions primarily within our hotel division.

- Prepare and analyze hotel financial statements on a monthly basis
- Review daily/nightly journal entries and their effect on the general ledger
- Prepare monthly accrual entries
- Assist accounts payable with proper coding of purchases
- Approve reasonable purchases through Birchstreet application
- Work closely with other department personnel to ensure accounts accurately reflect activity
- Assist in the preparation of supporting financial schedules for annual financial statement audit, regular regulatory filings, and other periodic reporting requirements
- Assist in recording of capital expenditure activity
- Make correcting entries as necessary
- Maintain relevant prepaid expense schedules
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts and assist in intercompany billings as necessary
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Participate in and make appropriate adjustments for monthly and bi-annual inventory processes
- Provide regular and informative communication to management to improve ability to make key business decisions
- Review accounts for accuracy and trend analysis
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred, can consider demonstrated experience in lieu of degree
- Two or more years of experience preferred, hotel or hospitality experience a plus
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs requirements of education and experience.
