Responsibilities

  • Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices.
  • Be able to test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility.
  • Be able to diagnose a situation and know the steps to take to resolve the issue for each job or situation.
  • Able to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints, and maps.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements and report violations of policies, and procedures and guidelines immediately to supervisor.
  • Inspect electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Able to read construction print and other job-related documentation.
  • Ability to travel out of town during the week and/or weekends.
  • Administration and recordkeeping – timecards, change orders, material delivery, truck tickets, plan review/verification, scheduling, equipment rental/return, etc.
  • On-going training and education at home or work location.
  • General material, equipment, and tool inventory, tracking and control – indoors and/or outdoors.
  • Inspections (random and scheduled) for day/night jobsite and building security at job sites, yards, storage areas, offices, fabrication shops, mechanic shops and other work locations.
  • Vehicle and equipment inspections, compliance checks and record keeping as well as preventative/scheduled maintenance.
  • Able to perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality.

Required

  • Be a licensed Journeyman working on commercial and residential electrical systems
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes.
  • Have previous experience working on commercial and residential electrical systems.
  • Identify wires accurately as well as able to decipher diagrams, blueprints, and other related drawings Must have own transportation to and from work sites.
  • Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work in a drug free work environment and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a level 3 background check.
