Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be well versed in Quality Assurance operations and will be expected to manage programs with little oversight. The primary responsibilities of this position include receiving, logging and investigating customer complaints or adverse events and sending responses to customers, as appropriate. This role is also responsible for managing the GMO program and is the primary contact for all GMO program related audits.

Work is performed in a standard office environment. May be seldomly required to enter a warehouse or manufacturing environment wearing personal protective attire including a lab coat, hairnet, beard cover (if applicable), dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Maintains the complaint log and responds to customer complaints and instances of dissatisfaction with finished products.
- Tracks quality metrics and reports out to upper management regularly.
- Fields customer questions about products and communicates to them with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintains assigned customer portals.
- Maintains the GMO program and associated documentation.
- Assists with RMA inspections and tracking
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline desired or a combination of education and experience.
- Familiar with GMPs, preferably 21 CFR part 111
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices
- Knowledge of investigation tools such as the 5 whys, fishbone, etc.
- 2 years of experience in quality assurance is required.
- Experience in a quality assurance role supporting a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, SOP’s GMP’s, and government regulations.
- Ability to perform thorough investigations and document findings of investigations.
- Ability to courteously communicate investigation findings to customers through professional written correspondence.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Strong attention to details.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, especially Word and Excel
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
