JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Product Engineer at UMH, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our product line by creating meticulous 2D drawings and 3D models for existing and new parts. The Product Engineer will also be responsible for generating components, part, subassembly, and assembly drawings, with a keen focus on manufacturing processes, accurate BOM creation, version control, and management. Additionally, this role entails conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural integrity and design validation, along with active participation in new product and system design initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
$75,000 - $90,000 a year. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

- 2D and 3D Modeling: Develop precise 2D drawings and 3D models for existing parts, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
- Drawing and Documentation Creation: Generate components, part, subassembly, and assembly drawings. Implement effective BOM creation, version control, and management processes.
- PDM Expertise: Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) systems to organize and manage product-related data, ensuring streamlined workflows and document control.
- Manufacturing Drawing Mastery: Leverage a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to create accurate and insightful manufacturing drawings, adhering to industry standards.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct thorough Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess structural integrity, evaluate performance, and validate design decisions.
- Innovative Design Participation: Actively contributes to the conceptualization and design of new products and systems, providing valuable engineering expertise throughout the development process.
- Create Material List: Create material requirements lists for parts of drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- Proven work experience as a Product Engineer or similar role
- Proficient in design software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and similar. Inventor experience preferred.
- Experience in using FEA to assess structural integrity preferred.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering design principles
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
