This is a Fixed Term appointment with both Part Time and Full Time opportunities available, ranging from 45.6 to 76 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

We currently have one Fixed Term Full Time position based at Murdoch and one Fixed Term Part Time position based at Midland.

About Our Team

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges.

CAHS helps children grow and thrive and we offer these same opportunities to the nurses who join our team. Our team-oriented approach allows for extensive clinical upskilling, and leadership development opportunities for nurses of all levels.

About The Role

CAMHS are seeking to appoint Administrative Assistants who can provide administrative support services to the multi-disciplinary teams within Community CAMHS.

As An Administrative Assistant, You'll Be Responsible For

  • Managing reception services, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for patients, staff, and the public, and handle incoming correspondence via phone, email, and in person, directing and resolving queries appropriately.
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support, including transcribing and proofreading documents, preparing reports, and managing filing systems.
  • Supporting stakeholder meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and coordinating logistics.
  • Ensuring accurate and confidential data entry and reporting using Mental Health Information Systems, maintain departmental databases, and monitor and organize maintenance of office equipment and assets.
  • Supporting a safe, high-quality, and family-centered patient care environment, while adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and legislative obligations, and WA Health Code of Conduct and CAHS Vision and Values.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement and professional development, completing mandatory training, and supporting the health service's strategic goals and safety standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of administrative services.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to liaise effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake duties without direct supervision both dependently and effectively as a member of a team, within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organise and prioritise activities to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience in in the use of keyboards/personal computer software applications including proficiency with ‘Windows’ based word processing and database software.

About Our CAMHS Directorates

CAMHS is divided into four networks - North, South, East and Central. Within these networks there are a range of Community CAMHS Clinics and hubs, Specialised Services and day Programs and Acute (Central only) services:

  • Community CAMHS Clinics- Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years.
  • Specialist Services and Day Programs- The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs.
  • Acute CAMHS– Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children’s Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team (PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.
