Position Overview

Department: iLiv ai Sales & Marketing

Reports to: EVP & CTO Jackson Dawson, Head of iLiv ai

Location: Remote/Hybrid

As SVP of Sales at iLiv ai, you will serve as the primary architect of our sales organization and revenue growth strategy. This role demands exceptional versatility, as you will initially function as both individual contributor and strategic leader. You will work closely with the Head of iLiv ai and our core team to establish repeatable sales processes while directly managing customer relationships and sales operations. This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to build a sales organization from the ground up.

The role encompasses three distinct phases of growth. In the initial phase, you will personally drive customer sales while establishing foundational sales and marketing programs. During the scaling phase, you will begin building and managing a small sales team while refining processes and systems. In the expansion phase, you will lead a full sales organization with specialized roles and sophisticated operations.

Core Responsibilities

During the startup's early stage, you will wear multiple hats and take on responsibilities that extend beyond traditional SVP of Sales duties. Your primary focus will be on generating immediate revenue while building sustainable foundations for future growth.

Direct Customer Sales and Business Development

You will personally manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, serving as the primary revenue generator for the company. This includes prospecting potential clients with our business development team, conducting product demonstrations, negotiating contracts, and maintaining ongoing customer relationships. You will be expected to carry a personal sales quota and close deals while simultaneously developing the broader sales strategy. Your hands-on approach will provide crucial insights into customer needs, market dynamics, and product-market fit that will inform strategic decisions.

Sales and Marketing Program Development

You will design and implement sales and marketing programs that support both immediate revenue goals and long-term growth objectives. This responsibility includes developing sales collateral, collaborating with iLiv ai’s product managers on pricing strategies, establishing lead generation processes, and coordinating with any existing marketing efforts. You will work closely with the product team to develop compelling value propositions and positioning statements that resonate with target customers. Additionally, you will establish key performance indicators and measurement systems to track program effectiveness.

Sales Operations Management

You will be responsible for all aspects of sales operations, including CRM implementation and management, sales forecasting, and territory planning. This involves establishing sales processes and methodologies that can be replicated as the team grows. You will also manage the sales budget, track conversion metrics, and provide regular reporting to leadership on sales performance and pipeline health. Your operational focus will ensure that sales activities are efficient, measurable, and scalable.

Team Building and Leadership Evolution

As the company grows and achieves key milestones, your role will evolve from individual contributor to team leader and eventually to sales executive.

Qualifications

Professional Background

The ideal candidate will bring a unique combination of startup experience, individual sales success, and leadership capability. You must have a proven track record of personal sales achievement in technology or SaaS environments, with demonstrated ability to close complex deals and manage full sales cycles. Experience in early-stage startups or high-growth companies is strongly preferred, as you must be comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.

Leadership experience is essential, whether formal or informal. You should have experience managing at least 2-3 sales professionals and demonstrated success in building processes and systems. Previous experience with sales operations, including CRM management, forecasting, and performance tracking, is required. Additionally, familiarity with marketing programs and cross-functional collaboration will be valuable given the integrated nature of this role.

You must possess exceptional individual sales skills, including prospecting, qualification, presentation, negotiation, and closing abilities.
