TECHNICIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Perform maintenance, installation, and repair on electrical and mechanical equipment, components, and instrumentation.
- Provide technical support to co-workers, supervision, and other workgroups.
- Provide data reporting to track repair costs.
- Document and report equipment problems to supervision.
- Update the preventive maintenance procedures as needed and when new equipment is installed.
- Assist Senior Technician – Instrumentation and Control in purchasing and inventory control.
- Modify and develop the PM schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly procedures.
- Diagnose equipment problems and develop a plan of action to correct problems that occur.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair procedures.
- Understand and follow proper safety and operating procedures.
- Understand, conform to, and enforce the policies and directives as established by the Executive Director, City Manager, and City Council.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of machinery and waterworks equipment.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to detect and diagnose problems in equipment operations.
- Ability to test and retrieve log information from electrical equipment.
- High School diploma or GED
- Possess a valid TX driver’s license.
- Class D Water Operator’s License issued by TCEQ.
- Class I Wastewater License issued by TCEQ.
- Previous experience working in a water, wastewater, or facility maintenance.
- Knowledge working with Asset Management software.
- Previous experience with the application and function of equipment specific to the water/wastewater industry.
- Previous experience repairing electrical equipment.
- Previous experience in maintaining or repairing large pumps and motors.
- Previous experience in maintaining or repairing valves, controllers, and piping.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and block function programming.
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs.
- Experience with Siemens, Rosemount, Endress-Hauser electronic equipment, including pressure, flow, temperature, and turbidity.
- Previous experience maintaining valves, controllers, and piping.
- Previous experience repairing electrical equipment.
- Previous experience in maintaining or repairing large pumps and motors.
