This role sits in the Retail and Restaurant organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Business, Project, and Technology teams from across the company.
The Product Operations Manager will report to the Manager, Business Relationships.
About The Role & Team:
The Retail & Restaurant Technology team provides commerce solutions for Disney Store and Disney Experiences’ Parks & Resorts. The Product Operations Manager connects Business and IT teams to find technological solutions that meet the system and process needs of all partners. We rely on the Product Operations Manager to provide ongoing assistance in the development, operations, and optimization of retail and restaurant systems through their understanding and documentation of requirements.
What You’ll Do:
The hiring range for this position in California is $123,300 to $169,500 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

We rely on the Product Operations Manager to provide ongoing assistance in the development, operations, and optimization of retail and restaurant systems through their understanding and documentation of requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Fully understand and influence business practices to align with technical capabilities.
- Contribute to the product roadmap for the Retail & Restaurant Technology space supporting continuous improvements for point-of-sale and integrated systems.
- Provide input to the product roadmap and anticipate impact on Cast Efficiency, Guest Satisfaction, and Regulatory Compliance along with other desirable product outcomes.
- Assist in quantifying project value and estimating development work.
- Oversee and contribute to the delivery of product enhancements from requirements definition to final QA and release.
- Collaborate with technical teams on delivering product enhancements and prioritizing defect fixes.
- Create and maintain documentation for technical configurations and solutions
- Maintain regulatory compliance including but not limited to SOX and PCI standards and audits
- Ensure product enhancements are successfully implemented and utilized by Cast Members.
- Identify measurable product outcomes and evaluate product success based on the targeted objectives.
- Understand how the feature capabilities technically work – both front-end and back-end -- and articulate these capabilities to cross functional technical and business users.
- Support feature launches with go-to-market plans, user acceptance testing and regular communications to project stakeholders.
- Prepare summaries of work for all levels of leadership that will include written and presentation deck formats
- Minimum 5 years of retail/restaurant work experience – eCommerce, brick ‘n mortar, planning or other backend systems and software.
- Software delivery experience -- Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid variations using scrum or kanban.
- Experience building user story-based documentation for Agile Software Development and Test-driven Development methodologies.
- Proficient in core office applications and collaboration tools like Confluence, Jira, Teams, and PowerPoint, with a keen interest in continuous learning and skill development.
- Excellent communications skills and comfort working with Executives, including the ability to engage in high-level business discussions and technical conversations. Ability to produce compelling presentation decks that summarize work
- Experience speaking in the domain language of technical engineers and interpreting for non-technical/finance/security users.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale technology or retail merchandising systems.
- Bachelor's degree, foreign equivalent Degree, or equivalent work experience.
