Job Summary
The Quality Specialist monitors and analyzes data of clinical and other quality outcomes. The Specialist is responsible for the collection, management and analysis of quality data, preparation of quality reports, and reporting of quality data to the Quality Manager and other leadership or departmental teams. The Specialist shall have and employ practical knowledge of tools and techniques of Continuous Quality Improvement, including analysis and interpretation of data using electronic health record systems (NextGen), disease registries or similar data collection systems. The Specialist will collaborate with and serve as a resource to department leadership and staff, and will provide training on documenting or recording data relevant to JVCHC quality measures. The Quality Specialist will assist and participate in preparation for all clinical audits and surveys.

Duties
- Participate in monthly care gap meetings with Medicaid Managed Care Companies; receive, review and analyze managed care incentive and care gap reports.
- Study and analyze the clinical quality measures reported by managed care and other insurance entities: assess and prioritize measures for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager, providers, nursing staff, care coordinators, and directors and managers to communicate and address care gap trends and to implement improvement plans to address identified trends.
- Work with managed care organizations to support events designed to communicate with patients and to close care gaps.
- Attain all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, including defined fiscal goals related to improving the successful attainment of quality incentive and pay for performance dollars.
- Collect, tabulate, manage and report patient satisfaction and feedback data on a monthly basis.
- Assist Quality Manager in monitoring, analyzing clinical and other quality metric results, client experience, quality assurance, and quality or process improvement projects.
- Create and facilitate dissemination of periodic quality data reports through verbal, written, and visual formats to various departments and teams.
- Maintain knowledge of the content of various in-house and benchmarking databases associated with the patient populations assigned.
- Assist Quality Manager in developing work plans or project plans for quality improvement studies.
- Promote positive working relations to work effectively as part of a team to facilitate JVCHC’s ability to meet its clinical quality measure goals and objectives.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement committee and meetings, as requested.
- Create and provide scorecards, dashboards or other clinical quality reporting mechanisms to the Quality Improvement Committee, leadership and clinical teams.
- Exhibit ability to work in abstracts with full autonomy.
- Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in nursing or related healthcare field.
- Two years progressive experience in quality improvement in healthcare facility working with quality measures/programs such as HEDIS, UDS, CMS, and accreditation processes.
