Position Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Estimating, the AP Accountant is a key position in a small but dynamic and integrated finance team. The AP Accountant possesses efficient communication skills and enjoys being a team player focused on attention to detail. They are comfortable with and able to work well in a deadline-oriented environment, including the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines. The AP Accountant will play a key support role in our accounts payable department. This role will be a changing role as we are going through implementation of our new ERP system. This position is located at our Spokane Valley, Washington facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounts payable records and ensure timely/accurate payment to vendors.
  • Process incoming invoices, including coding and routing, for approval.
  • Proactively research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage goods receipt clearing account.
  • Review and process expense reports.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs for approval.
  • Manage vendor onboarding and credit applications.
  • Maintain and manage accounts payable ageing.
  • Assist our Canadian Mass Timber facility with accounts payable as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or other relevant fields.
  • Proactive, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Experience with SAP would be an advantage.
  • SOX exposure is considered an asset.
  • Sales and Use tax experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to system or procedural changes as they come up.

Salary & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000 (USD) and will be commensurate with your education and experience.
