Job Summary

Performs a variety of clerical functions to support the Business Office. Prepares, images, indexes and performs Quality Assurance (QA) for requisitions, attachments, insurance cards and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from commercial insurance carriers. Works missing requisition reports. Maintains onsite records storage area for the Business Office and assists Legal Services in document destruction/storage as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares documents for scanning (i.e. Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) laboratory requisitions and all attachments.)
  • Scanning of documents using document scanning equipment.
  • Quality Assurance review of documents scanned into system and correction of errors
  • Performs data entry of indexing information to look up imaged documents.
  • Works missing requisition reports, including follow up with other departments.
  • Meets all QA accuracy and data entry production goals.
  • Follows all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains Business Office records storage area to include preparing boxes for off-site storage.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and client information.

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience

  • Up to one (1) year experience imaging documents in a healthcare environment.

Other Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry forty (40) pounds.
  • Must have basic PC knowledge and working expertise with keyboard, mouse, Internet and Windows based applications.

Preferences

  • Experience with document scanning.
