Product – Category Manager Lighting

Education/Skills

• 4 year degree with 5 years lighting experience necessary and management experience desired.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
• Knowledge of SAP preferred
  
  

Position Overview

The Product Manager will interface effectively and establish credibility and confidence with marketing, sales, customer service, procurement, business development, engineering and manufacturing. As well as drive the development and profitability of current and future products.

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Support business plans of exceptional growth for this high potential and frequently evolving segment of business
• Be an ambassador for the industry leading LOOX lighting solutions
• Work closely with industrial accounts and support their product introduction needs
• Strong analytical, technical and financial skills
• Utilize negotiating skills and costing expertise to ensure quality/cost, and deliver maximum bottom-line impact
• Ensure product availability by communicating regularly with procurement planning members regarding lead times and customer specific demands
• Maintain detailed knowledge of inventory levels to assist during product life cycle transitions
• Identify and manage key suppliers for components
• Work closely with category specific Product Development Engineer
• Self-motivated, leader and team player
• Define and manage project schedules for all phases of new product introduction
• Communicate product change notifications both internally and externally
• Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop content and implement product specs, datasheets, website information, labels, installation manuals, and other documentation
• Train the sales channel on new products
• Continually analyze market data from industry sources to measure our competitive position and product success in the market and maintain a database of competitive products
