Summary/Objective

The Project Manager acts as the project leader of the organization, driving installation efficiency and meeting customer expectations. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for achieving financial success on each project, however, this needs to be achieved whilst simultaneously delivering high levels of Customer Satisfaction and Employee Engagement. A successful Project Manager will diligently manage the project resources (labor, material, and time) towards the successful execution of a project. The Project Manager should be able to apply financial management principles to track project budgets and report to leadership during project review meetings. The Project Manager should also be able to identify and articulate project team needs and keep all members of the installation team engaged and fulfilled in their work.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews project estimates and preliminary designs to establish time frame/schedule, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Collaborates with internal and external project stakeholders to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Coordinates activities of project to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and coordinates schedules or plans as required.
  • Coordinates with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for Sales Team, Project Engineer, Customers, Internal and External Resources, and Management regarding project related items.
  • Identifies and addresses safety related items to eliminate accidents on projects.
  • Coordinates and documents quotes and proposals with vendors. Procures equipment for projects and work with vendors and subcontractors to coordinate timely deliveries of equipment.
  • Obtains, reviews, and approves subcontractor scopes of work and quotes. Works with internal team members to have contracts written and executed.
  • Identifies opportunities for, provides pricing, and delivers change orders to customers.
  • Assists in equipment selection and manages the design and engineering of the project.
  • Works with management on monthly budget management, project forecasting, project billing and collections
  • Understands general contracting/industrial refrigeration.

Qualifications And KSAs

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, colleagues and other departments.
  • Ability to lead a Team effectively, including mentoring, training, and retention of talent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Clear understanding of Revenue, Cost, and Margin.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret financial data such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret construction documents such as blueprints, scope documents, project schedules, and project tracking forms.
  • Clear understanding and experience on the installation and/or service of refrigeration.
  • Be a champion of safety - must abide by all safety protocol and be an example to others when safety is an issue.
  • Understands the need for integrity and demonstrates awareness of ethical implications in all situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.

Travel Required: Required to travel out of state to check on projects and supervise the Operations Team, 3-5 days out of the month.

The employee may be required to travel and work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer.

While on jobsites, this person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person may be required to wear personal protective devices such as but not limited to hearing and eye protection.
