Summary: The Leave Administration - Program Manager manages Western CT Health Network'sleave of absence program and related processes to ensure compliance with state andfederal regulations including FMLA (Family Medical Leave of Absence) and ADA

(Americans with Disabilities). Serves as a liaison with third-party leave administrator,Employee Health, employee and the employee's manager for the effective processing ofthe leave lifecycle including facilitating the employee's return to work. These leave types include short and long term disability and/or work-related injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lifecycle of disability related and religious accommodation requests, along with pregnancy related leaverequests, including receipt of initial requests, review of physician certifications, follow-up with employee andmedical provider for additional information in support of requests, management of "interactive dialogue"between employees and management, completing on-going written and verbal communications with employees, managers, and HRBPs, documenting agreed-upon accommodations, and centralized tracking of all
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all leave of absence, short term/long term, FMLA, and reasonableaccommodation issues within WCHN. 10%
  • Coordinates Fitness-for-Duty (FFD) examinations of employees when it is suspected that they are unable toperform the essential functions of their role. 5%
  • Serves as primary point of contact for leave of absence and oversee the administration by third-party leaveadministrator. Track leave expiration/exhaustion ensuring appropriate notifications are sent. Partner withTPA in returning employees to work with workplace accommodations. 10%
  • Partner with Employee Health in managing return-to-work/light duty program for employees out of work withwork-related injuries, evaluating potential reasonable accommodations. Monitor and manage employees ontransitional duty assignments. 10%
  • Reviews daily activity reports provided by third-party administrator and updates employee records in thesystem. 5%
  • Receives and processes weekly payroll files from third-party administrator with appropriate allocation of Paid Time Off/Frozen Sick Bank for timely and accurate payroll processing. 5%
  • Prepares reports for leadership on Family Medical Leaves, Worker's Compensation Leaves and ADAAccommodations on a quarterly basis. 5%
  • Continuously improve WCHN disability/leave related processes and policies, as necessary. 5%
  • Maintenance of WCHN's frozen sick banks. 5%
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information

  • This position requires a minimum formal education of Bachelor Degree and minimum of five years job-related experience.
  • Excel, Word, MS Office Suite, Access.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and outstanding follow-up skills.
  • Understanding of complicated aspects of accommodations and transitional duty assignments
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding access for people with disabilities and/or religious needs; specifically, FMLA, ADA and Title VII.
  • Working knowledge of state laws regarding workers compensation.
