Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities

The Manager, U.S. Paralympics Swimming (USPS) will oversee key athlete and coach development initiatives, manage the planning and execution of domestic competitions (including the Para Open Series), lead the licensing and classification processes, and ensure operational excellence across the USPS program. The Manager will collaborate closely with USPS staff and stakeholders to implement departmental strategies and advance the goals of U.S. Paralympics Swimming. The Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the Paralympic Movement in the United States.

Here’s How You ‘ll Have An Impact

  • Oversee National Team operations, including the administration of athlete payments, Sport & Athlete Services (SAS) and travel stipends, Elite Athlete Health Insurance (EAHI), Operation Gold bonuses, annual paperwork, and coach/contractor compensation.
  • Lead the planning and execution of domestic Para Open Seriesmeets in partnership with local hosts. Develop and implement athlete and coach development clinics at each event.
  • Lead the planning and execution for the Jimi Flowers Classic and National Championships, managing all aspects of event operations including scheduling,logistics, and educational programming for athletes, coaches, volunteers, and officials.
  • Manage onboarding and engagement efforts for new athletes, coaches, officials, and families through the National C Team level. Oversee communication via the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Info inbox.
  • Manage the annual athlete licensing process in collaboration with the Manager, Classification, including form distribution, budget tracking, timeline management, and policy compliance.
  • Lead national classification initiatives in partnership with the Manager, Classification, including overseeing documentation, planninglogistics, and maintaining compliance with World Para Swimming and U.S. Paralympics standards.
  • Collaborate with the Coach andOfficials Education Lead to assist in the planning, development, and delivery of virtual and in-person educational programs.
  • Coordinate with the Performance Pathways department to elevate the visibility of Paralympic Swimming within NCAA and NFHS programs and support the growth of the athlete pipeline.
  • Serve as the USPS lead on anti-doping initiatives, coordinating with USADA to manage the Registered Testing Pool (RTP), Clean Athlete Program (CAP), andrequired annual education.
  • Ensuretimely submission of official meet results to World Para Swimming and USA Swimming.
  • Act as the USPS liaison to USA Swimming Local Swimming Committees (LSCs), providing education, outreach, and guidance on Paralympic eligibility and programming.
  • Partner with the Communications Department to ensure the USPS website isaccurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly, with regularly refreshed resources for athletes, coaches, and the community.
  • Perform key Games role assignments asrequested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Olympic or Paralympic sport programs including event operations, logistics, or team management
  • Experience working with athletes, coaches, or sport organizations is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate across departments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders

  • Hiring pay range: $62,672- $80,000 per year
  • This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 15% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
