Job Description

Functions/Duties: The Regional Sales Director North America is responsible for identifying, qualifying and developing business relationships and increasing the product offerings for the X-FAB Group and its local facilities, including business development and new account acquisition. This position is also responsible for managing and leading the Salas and Support offices in the North American geographical region.

Responsibilities

  • Group wide responsibility regarding the sales of the product offering of the X-FAB Group and its local facilities.
  • Managing and leading the North America Sales Team and co-coordinating the activities of local Field Sales Engineers and Field Application Engineers
  • Direct commercial handling and sales support of X-FAB’s silicon foundry customers, including technical response on proper utilization of process technologies and design kits plus all relevant commercial negotiations within the region.
  • Co-ordination and management of local independent Sales Representatives and the negotiation of contracts with business partners and clients.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and developing sales leads of the local Sales Team for X-FAB’s mixed-signal foundry services and working closely with our customer service teams and fabs in the USA, France, Malaysia, and Germany.
  • Interfacing with new and potential customers to identify their needs and fit them to X-FAB’s services and process technologies.
  • Observing market trends, collecting the feedback of your local Sales team and/or Representatives and providing feedback on customer requirements to X-FAB’s Technology and Marketing organization.
  • Interface and work together with the Product Marketing teams and technical teams of the CMOS, SiC, GaN and Microsystems divisions
  • Working closely with the Product Marketing Division for the definition of new services and technology requirements as well with Marcom for preparation and participation in events, exhibitions, and technical road shows for customers.
  • Business development and new account acquisition in NA.
  • The development and management of the local sales organization to meet sales targets given by the X-FAB Top management, managing the local sales team as a cost center.
  • Analyzing commercial conditions for clients regarding the marketing instructions of the X-FAB group organization, maintaining forecast and business potential information for accurate capacity and technology road map planning.
  • Contributing to the refinement of X-FAB’s sales and marketing strategy.

Current Skills/Competencies

  • Experience in wafer foundry business and proven track record of at least 5 years of developing business
  • Professional attitude with interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with business partners on all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent social skills to establish new relationships with potential customers.
  • Proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in a business environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with external and internal partners.
  • Problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Proven team member & self-starter.
  • Proven track record of successful sales.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and close deals professionally.
  • Experience managing large multi-national customer accounts.
  • Domestic and international travel required.
  • Experience in the field of Microsystems (MEMS) and Silicon Carbide technologies is a PLUS.

Job requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education/Skills Background: B.S. Degree in EE, Physics, Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Experience handling customer contacts and familiar with the semiconductor market.
  • Experience leading local teams and support offices in several different locations.
  • Basic experience in semiconductor physics and process technologies as well as analog and/or digital circuit design will be helpful.
