The Project Manager is responsible for managing Commercial developer clients’ projects by selling “extras”, by managing numerous foremen, and by acting as an intermediary between the field operations and management.

Highlights Of What Our Project Manager Will Do

  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to effectively build out the project.
  • Document and report job progress as well as managing the submittal process.
  • Understands requirements for each project specific to each budget and communicate expectations to the landscape superintendent.
  • Scrutinizes purchases for correct quantity, coding, aggressive buying, and budget analysis for introduction into month end percent of completion.
  • Coordinates with purchasing to ensure ample time to “buy right”.
  • Understands individual job budgets, dedicate required resources daily specific to each project; communicates with the client and generate tentative schedule to coincide with their projections; communicate expectations to field personnel and follow-up for accountability by project, by the individual.
  • Evaluates, understands project commitment and agrees to charge if warranted. Understands contract scope of work through a thorough review.
  • Provides direction and expectations for the position. Holds subcontractors accountable for each project/task.
  • Accurate, timely contract billing administration including tracking, documenting, and mandating billing for any services provided; absolutely no absence of billing for service rendered unless recognized, acknowledged and authorized.
  • Mediates personnel, equipment and customer problems under the direction of management.
  • Formally generates and proposes additional work; administer to formal client acceptance and budget acknowledgment; adjust and forward the amended budget to field ops for action.

Skills and experience that are necessary as a Landscape Project engineer include:

  • 3-5 years Construction experience or 1-2 years of Project Engineer experience
  • Proficient with Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Procore, Sage or Precision, On-screen Takeoff, Excel
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a very fast-paced environment
  • Experience sourcing and buying out material
