The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/APRN) at Premier Community HealthCare Group will provide care and maintain continuity of care for adults and children experiencing mental illness or psychological distress within our Behavioral Health Department. We strive to serve our community in establishing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic conditions for strong mentally healthy communities. The PMHNP/APRN will provide psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of mental health problems and promote mental health and wellbeing. These duties are to be performed within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and in accordance with PCHG’s policies.
  • Provide education and give health management information and illness prevention techniques for the promotion of behavioral health in the community.
  • Assess, work-up, diagnose and provide psychiatric treatment and follow up care to patients of all age groups.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and actively participate in the improvement of Behavioral Health services. Consult and coordinate with health care providers/clinicians working at any location.
  • Work in coordination with the Quality Assurance Team and management to develop and implement a quality assurance program.
  • Document in a timely fashion accurate accounts of interactions with patients in Electronic Health Records in compliance with PCHG protocol.
  • Communicate any concerns about patient care issues or interpersonal difficulties. Follow proper chain of command and proper channels of communication.
  • Mentor and train new providers or clinical support team members as needed, along with all Behavioral Health Care Team members.
  • Participate in a rotation for afterhours services on-call.
  • Manage daily and weekly schedule to ensure encounter targets are met and documented appropriately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Review and address tasks daily and maximize productivity.
  • Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
  • Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
  • Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier’s mission
  • Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience
  • Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program with a clinical specialty area of Family Medicine or Psychiatric Mental Health
  • Current APRN License in Florida.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Board eligible or Board Certified preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferred
  • Obtain and maintain Epic certification/ annual compliance throughout employment
