General Summary

Responsible for the successful and timely management of assigned approved consumer loans pipeline. Discuss loan options with members, request and validate supporting loan documents, issue closing documents and book loans. Provide one-on-one member consultation and explore opportunities to cross-sell appropriate products and services. Meet or exceed productivity metrics for booked loans and pull-through.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • The Consumer lending processor is responsible for contacting members promptly to advise of the loan status and discuss loan terms and requirements.
  • Request supporting documents needed from applicants, review approved applications assigned and analyze the information for accuracy, address any discrepancies, and update the system, as needed.
  • Validate information by preforming identity and cross check information for any irregularities.
  • Collaborate with Underwriters, Consumer Loan Advisors, front line credit union staff and Management to resolve any member concerns and to provide the best possible member experience, during the loan process.
  • Explain ancillary products and benefits to members and cross-sell other applicable credit union products and services.
  • Prepare the closing documents and work with members to ensure accurate understanding of the final loan terms and prompt execution of the loan documents.
  • Ensure that all loan documentation is complete before booking a loan application.
  • Ensure all loan documents are scanned to imaging system. This includes documents given to the member (loan documents, disclosures, etc.), documents received from the member/dealership and internal documents (check copy, receipts, checklist, etc.).
  • Book consumer loan applications and ensure that the loan approval terms match the loan documents and the funded loan.
  • Keep accurate tracking and log member interactions/contacts within the lending system to ensure accuracy and understanding for others reviewing the application, and for tracking purposes.
  • Consistently meet or exceed the set individual and department goals for funding and pull-through.
  • Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the products and services offered by NIHFCU and participate in Credit Union provided training sessions. Utilize sales and service training to identify cross-sell opportunities to enhance the member relationship with the Credit Union.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of NIHFCU’s lending programs, guidelines, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent, College preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in funding and closing loans within a consumer lending environment and experience with cross-sell and outbound calling with a financial institution.
  • Experience with Meridian Link, Keystone, Clutch Branch Portal preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; Ability to work as a team player in a collaborative environment.

Required Compliance Courses

Ensure that work results and processes comply with relevant laws and with established NIHFCU policies, procedures, and practices, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).Attend all required training or complete and pass all online required training courses as applicable.

Salary Ranges: $26.31/hr.-$32.88/hr ; Nonexempt position.
