We are looking for a part-time ICU Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Unleashed is a full-service boarding and grooming facility that is staffed 24/7!

The ICU Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the ICU team in providing top-quality, compassionate care to critically ill and hospitalized patients. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals passionate about animal care, eager to learn, and ready to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Key Responsibilities:

• Assist ICU veterinary technicians and DVMs with patient care, including restraint, walking, feeding, and hygiene.
• Monitor and document patient status (e.g., appetite, eliminations, behavior) and promptly report changes to the medical team.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of ICU kennels, equipment, and workspaces to hospital standards.
• Prepare and stock ICU supplies and treatment areas.
• Provide comfort and enrichment to hospitalized patients while ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges under the guidance of the medical team.
• Support accurate record-keeping and communication by entering basic information into EzyVet (training provided).
• Adhere to all UVH protocols, including Fear Free and UVH Cares principles.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in animal care preferred but not required.
• Ability to work calmly in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
• Must be comfortable around dogs, cats, and exotic pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods.

Training & Development:

• On-the-job training provided with a focus on ICU protocol, patient handling, and hospital husbandry.
