The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Project Manager III. The Research Operations Manager for IC3 and PRISMAp Lab will coordinate administrative and operational aspects of multiple funded research initiatives. This position will ensure regulatory compliance, manage scientific communication, and coordinate operational workflows across research projects. The position will oversee administrative staff supporting research activities, maintain IRB protocols and compliance documentation, and facilitate effective project execution. This multifaceted role integrates research administration, compliance management, and operational coordination to support the center's expanding portfolio of AI and clinical research initiatives. The position will work directly with center directors and investigators to ensure efficient administrative operations that advance research objectives.

Essential functions;

  • Research Compliance and Administrative Oversight

Oversee critical research processes including IRB protocol management, compliance documentation, and regulatory submissions for multiple research projects.

Coordinate with scientific writers and administrative staff to ensure timely development of research materials, grant proposals, and scientific presentations.

Serve as primary liaison for regulatory matters, ensuring all research activities maintain compliance with institutional and federal requirements.

Manage documentation systems for research protocols, compliance certifications, and project deliverables.

Coordinate operational aspects of project implementation across multiple research initiatives.

  • Project Management and Process Improvement
Develop and maintain project timelines, deliverable tracking, and resource allocation plans for extremely complex research initiatives.

Identify administrative inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance research productivity.

Coordinate HR-related documentation and processing for research staff.

Facilitate communication between research teams, collaborators, and administrative units.

Monitor project budgets and expenditures in coordination with financial administrators.

  • Administrative Leadership and External Relations
Supervise scientific writer, research coordinators, and student interns and volunteers.

Lead administrative strategy for center and lab operations and long-term planning initiatives.

Performance evaluations and professional development planning.

Staff hiring and onboarding coordination.

  • Strategic Support and Documentation
Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities that align with center research priorities.

Support preparation of progress reports and other administrative documentation for funded projects.

Coordinate with university compliance offices to ensure adherence to institutional policies.

Maintain data organization systems for research documentation and administrative records.

Facilitate onboarding and training processes for research personnel

Expected Salary:

$85,000 - $95,000 Annually



Required Qualifications:

Masterâ€s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelorâ€s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred:

Master's degree in appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
