The Stephen C. O’Connell Center (SCOC) is seeking a Fiscal Assistant II. This position reports to the O’Connell Center Associate Director and assists the Associate Director and Accountant with the overall operation of the Business Office functions with a primary focus on payroll and fiscal transaction responsibilities. This position is expected to work a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri. However, due to special events such as concerts, commencement, etc., this position will also require occasional work on nights, weekends and/or holidays. This position’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Payroll:

Utilizing the Kronos time clock system to retrieve and verify punch times/time worked by student/OPS employees. Verifying regular and supplemental payroll hours. Creating and submitting reports of employee payroll activity to administrators for approval. Maintaining accurate employee personnel and payroll records. Assisting student and full-time employees with payroll concerns and issues. Coordinating with the HR Generalists to maintain accuracy of employee personnel and payroll records. Responsible for the distribution of new employees’ and other employees’ accounting/chart field information into the payroll, HR system in PeopleSoft.

Accounting and Bookkeeping:

Processing deposits for the SCOC as needed. Processing AR/AP transactions as needed. Responsible for verifying all charges made with the University Purchasing card by all employees of the SCOC that are authorized cardholders. Researching, analyzing, and resolving general accounts transactions problems. Responsible for running reports and queries, compiling data, copying, scanning and maintaining accurate records. Performing initial reconciliations on all transactions for review by the Accountant, Associate Director, and Director. Compliance with federal, state, and University policies, procedures, and regulations.

Event Responsibilities:

Assisting with show settlements on the nights of shows. Providing back-up to the Box Office and Marketing Manager to cover opening and closing functions when needed.

Other:

Performing other duties as deemed necessary by the Associate Director and Director. Assisting with the supervision of student assistants and interns in the Associate Director’s absence.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

40 Hours a week

Due to special events such as concerts, commencement, etc., this position will also require occasional work on nights, weekends and/or holidays.



Expected Salary:

$22.00-$24.00 Hourly based on experience



Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.



Preferred:

Bookkeeping, marketing, and supervisory experience is desired. Experience with PeopleSoft is desired as well. A degree in accounting and/or business administration is preferred. Computer experience is a must.
