We are growing & looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Team. This person will collaborate with partner teams to collect business requirements, use dbt to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets, and rolling out new analysis solutions. They’ll be applying software engineering best practices to analytics code through version control, testing, and continuous integration. The primary purpose of this position is to make working with data a delightful experience for data consumers within the company.

Location: Our corporate office is in Tukwila, WA. Hybrid work from Seattle Area. Remote may be available from WA, IL, AZ, MD, TX, GA.

$80,000 - $115,000. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base range for this position. However, individual rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.

We are growing & looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Team. This person will collaborate with partner teams to collect business requirements, use dbt to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets, and rolling out new analysis solutions. They’ll be applying software engineering best practices to analytics code through version control, testing, and continuous integration. The primary purpose of this position is to make working with data a delightful experience for data consumers within the company.
What You’ll Do
- Build and enhance elegant data models with dbt
- Implement software engineering best practices through version control, testing, and continuous integration
- Work to understand and solve business partners’ data-related challenges
- Troubleshoot data anomalies with engineering teams
- Educate and empower your customers to self-serve
- Build visualizations
- Craft data requirements for the engineering teams
- Manage a cloud-based data warehouse in Snowflake
- 2+ years experience writing performant, scalable SQL models on large data sets
- Experience with dbt and Snowflake, or similar
- Some experience with BI visualizations - we use Mode Analytics
- Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with data storage technologies outside of our regular stack
- Software engineering background - C#, React, PowerShell, Python
- A love for (and experience with) modeling data
- The ability to break large problems into small, testable, deployable solutions
- Curiosity: eagerness to learn how ThriftBooks works
- Communication: discussing technical topics with non-technical people
- Proven track record of delighting data consumers
