Orange County SC is seeking a highly motivated and development-focused Individual Player Development Manager to join our technical staff. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating personalized training programs to support the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth of players across the first team and developmental squads. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating personalized training programs to support the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth of players across the first team and developmental squads. The ideal candidate is passionate about player progression and thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Individualized Training Plans:
- Develop position-specific and player-specific training programs based on regular performance assessments.
- Deliver supplemental training sessions (on-field and video analysis) tailored to individual needs.
- Monitor and adapt programs based on match performance, training loads, and player feedback.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Work with performance analysts, strength & conditioning staff, and sports science teams to track progress.
- Provide ongoing feedback to players through data, video, and 1-on-1 coaching sessions.
- Maintain detailed records of individual development objectives and milestones.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate closely with the head coach, assistant coaches, and academy staff to align individual goals with team tactics and objectives.
- Attend all first-team training sessions, games, and relevant academy games for player observation.
- Development Pathways:
- Support integration of academy players into the first-team environment by managing personalized transition plans.
- Assist in talent identification and player profiling processes for incoming prospects.
- Minimum USSF “B” License (or equivalent UEFA/CONMEBOL license); “A” License preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of coaching experience, preferably with elite youth or professional players.
- Demonstrated expertise in individual player development with a track record of improving player performance.
- Strong understanding of game principles, positional play, and age-appropriate development models.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
- Proficient in performance analysis tools (e.g., Hudl, Wyscout, Coach Paint, etc.).
- Experience in USL, MLS Next Pro, or comparable professional environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in sports science, coaching, or related field.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
