We’re seeking a strategic and passionate Programs and Development Manager to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. This position offers meaningful, mission-driven work at the intersection of global health, development, and fundraising, and plays a key role in helping us drive our mission forward through strategic grantmaking and program oversight.

About The Role

As the Programs and Development Manager, you’ll take the lead on institutional and foundation fundraising efforts, manage grant processes from start to finish, and help ensure the successful execution of donor-funded programs across the globe. You'll also serve as a close collaborator to senior leadership and a mentor to junior staff—all while operating at the heart of one of the most innovative organizations in global health. This role may also supervise 1-2 junior team members.

What You'll Do

Development & Fundraising

  • Lead grant writing and submission processes, including letters of intent (LOIs), proposals, and donor research.
  • Develop compelling grant narratives, results frameworks, and theories of change.
  • Identify and build relationships with institutional donors and partners.
  • Coordinate with field offices to support in-country fundraising efforts.
  • Adapt materials for different funder requirements and digital portals.

Program & Grant Management

  • Oversee all donor-related programming and reporting across field offices.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Build tools and frameworks to ensure effective grant management and donor compliance.
  • Maintain and track grant data using DKT’s CRM and internal systems.
  • Work closely with finance to align funding activities with audit and revenue recognition needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years' experience in project and grants management and fundraising;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with sensitive timelines;
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft software; PowerBI is a plus
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Experience working with institutional and foundation donors is strongly preferred;
  • Experience responding to calls for proposals is strongly preferred;
  • Experience working with a CRM for donor and grants management is strongly preferred;
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for Programs and Development tasks is preferred;
  • Knowledge of social entrepreneurship, reproductive health and contraceptive social marketing, and non-profit management;
  • French, Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills and international experience is considered an additional benefit.
